KARACHI - Four members of a family were killed in a road mishap here on Thursday. Deceased Adam Khan Laghri, his wife and two sons were going in their car when a speedy truck fell on their vehicle after colliding with a roadside pole near ICI Bridge, within the limits of Jackson Police Station. The heavy containers loaded on the truck smashed the car. As a result, 45-year-old Adam Khan Laghri, his wife Dr Asma and their two sons, namely 14-year-old Muhammad Ahmed and 12-year-old M Faraz died on the spot. Their dead bodies were shifted to the hospital while police had arrested the truck driver Muhammad Shakoor and registered a case against him. The ill-fated family hailed from Hyderabad and deceased Dr. Asma used to work as Kemari Town Health Officer. They were residents of the Boat Basin area. Following the incident, SSP Traffic Waqar Mallah suspended and demoted several police officials posted in the area including SO Khawaja Muhammad, ASI Muhammad Raza, head constable Ramzan and constables Ashiq Ali, Ansar and Inayat over negligence.
