Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Thailand's Foreign Minister Kasit Primoya Friday met here and agreed to soon hold Joint Economic Commission and Policy Consultations. In a meeting held on the sidelines of 16th ARF Ministerial Meeting, Qureshi said Pakistan desires close relations with ASEAN community as part of its Vision East Asia Policy'. He said Thailand was an important ASEAN member and Pakistan looks forward to further strengthen the existing bilateral cooperation with it. The two foreign ministers also agreed to expedite the conclusion of Visa Abolition Agreement. The Thai foreign minister lauded Pakistan's contribution to fight terrorism and militancy and said that Pakistan's role was important not only for peace in South Asia but also for global peace.
