RAWALPINDI - A large number of students of Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (AAUR) took to Benazir Bhutto Road (BBH) against illegal detention of their fellow students, arrested by police when they were protesting against the brutal killing of one of their colleague, Muhammad Shehzad, by some unknown murderers. To keep aside the AAUR students from protest, the university administration in collaboration with the police officials arrested and tortured the shining stars of the nation. I cant express such kind of humiliation with the higher level institutes students by policemen, remarked a student of the university who is witnessed of whole episode. On the directives of vice-chancellor some police officials thrashed my fellows in a worse manner for that I have no words to condemn the regrettable attitude of the university administration and police officials towards the future of the nation, he expressed his views while showing great affections towards arrested fellow students. Female students of AAUR also on Thursday staged a protest rally in front of the university against this action of the university administration. They were holding placards in their hands inscribed with slogans like 'We condemn the police terrorism in campus and our demand is immediate release of our innocent fellow. They chanted slogans against the odd behaviour of administration and delivered speeches. One of the female students demanded of the administration that to take appropriate action to probe the murderers of Shehzad. She also demanded of the early release of their arrested fellows. To stage protest and hold rallies is our democratic right and no one can snatch it from us, said Saira Batool.
