ISLAMABAD - Chairman of Capital Development Authority Imtiaz Inayat Elahi Thursday said that renovation, maintenance and modernisation of the markets; especially of the G and I Sectors was top priority of the CDA. During his visit to the Super Market (F-6 Markaz) on Thursday, he said that every citizen of the country knew that Super Market was the oldest and famous market and it was just like a face of Islamabad. It is visited by the residents of the federal capital, people from other cities and even by the foreigners, therefore, all-out measures would be taken to make the market a model for the visitors, he added. He directed the authorities concerned to take necessary steps to bring improvement in sanitation services and special care should be taken for repair and maintenance of footpaths and parking areas. The CDA Chairman directed the Director of Municipal Administration to launch campaign against the encroachments in the market to facilitate the visitors. He said that supervisors would be deputed in the markets to act as liaison person between the authority and the traders of the markets to resolve the issues of markets in an effective manner. He agreed to the demand of traders for the construction of public toilets in the market as well as the shifting of filtration plant, already installed, to some other suitable location in the market. Representatives of the traders welcomed the CDA Chairman.
