ISLAMABAD Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Fazl) central leader Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri on Friday called on Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and apprised him about his partys concern regarding the non-fulfilment of promises made to them. During the meeting which took place at Prime Ministers House, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri gave the message of partys chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to Premier Gilani and said that they were under tremendous pressure from the partys central leadership to get the promises made with them by the government translated into reality. Sources in JUI-F informed TheNation that they were under tremendous pressure from the erstwhile Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal component parties to quit the government before the revival of MMA otherwise they would not be made part of the alliance. The sources further informed that in the meantime the party leadership was also under pressure from within that as the government was not fulfilling the promises made with them so they should walk out from the government and become part of the religious parties alliance to be revived shortly. Maulana Fazlur Rehman was also annoyed the way his party was kept out while making the decision regarding the extension given to the Chief of Army Staff. Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri also conveyed the concerns in this connection to the Prime Minister. As usual Prime Minister Gilani gave assurance to the JUI-F leader Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri that government would honour each and every promise made with JUI-F and would continue to follow the path of politics of reconciliation. Meanwhile according to a press release issued by Prime Ministers Secretariat while talking with Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said that government had allocated development funds to all the parliamentarians across the board. The Prime Minister said that pursuance to the reconciliatory policy has strengthened the democratic process in the country and created an enabling environment to realise major achievements like consensus adoption of the 18th amendment and NFC award. He further added that now the responsibility lies on all the political players to maintain this momentum and understanding to further promote the democratic process. Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri thanked the Prime Minister for equitable distribution of the development budget and also apprised him of the progress of the ongoing development schemes in his area.
