Medical board for Hashmi expanded

LAHORE - The Medical Board of the neurosurgeons and doctors has been expanded from 10 to 20 to examine health state of senior leader PML-N MNA Makhdoom Javed Hashmi who suffered a brain stroke in Multan on Tuesday last and was taken to Lahore where he is reported to be stable and improving at General Hospital Intensive Care Unit. On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif now the high level board constituted for his medical check-up has been expended from 10 to 20 members. Strategy would be evolved regarding further treatment of Javaid Hashmi after the consultation of renowned and prominent neurosurgeons and physicians of the country who will examine him on Saturday (today). This was stated by Principal Lahore General Hospital Prof Dr Tariq Salahuddin during a briefing to the mediamen here Friday. He said that MRI test of Javaid Hashmi was conducted on Friday and there is nothing to worry about as all reports are normal. He said that all-out treatment facilities are available in General Hospital for his treatment and doctors of General Hospital will come up to the expectations. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif is in close contact with the medical team and monitoring the treatment of Javed Hashmi personally. He further informed that the blood clot in the brain is diluting speedily and inflammation of brain is also reducing. Principal further disclosed that detailed briefing regarding the opinion of medical board would be given to the journalists on Saturday (today) in the Committee Room of hospital. He said that medical and treatment facilities are being provided to the other patients of ICU ward without any discrimination. He said that the medical team of Lahore General Hospital is performing duties with professional dedication and commitment and this team will remain alert till complete rehabilitation of Makhdoom Javed Hashmi
