KARACHI Four golfers, including top favorites Shabbir Iqbal and Muhammad Munir, were tied at the top of the leader board with five-under-67 in the opening round of the 54-hole three-day Byco Sindh Open Golf here Friday at rain-hit Arabian Sea Country Club golf course. Matloob Ahmed and Cinnar Gul shared the top perch with the two favorites. Talib Hussain of Islamabad and Nisar Hussain of PAF are jointly placed second with three under 69. As many as 86 professionals and 60 amateurs teed off under pleasant cloudy conditions in the morning. Mild showers lashed the glorious lush green course creating some difficulty for the professionals in Rs one million prize carrying championships which is being sponsored by Byco - a leading refinery of the country. The Sindh Golf Association is organising the event. As many as 18 professionals are contesting in the senior section of the championships.
