LAHORE (APP) - Technical Education and Vocational Training Company (TEVTEC) in collaboration with Getronics Pakistan will train free of cost 100 master trainers of its institutes in the field of Information Communication Technology (ICT). These master trainers will be deputed at TEVTA institutes across Punjab to deliver training and create awareness among teachers on Basic Networking Automation Tools (Voice, Video, Data, Security and Wireless). It was decided in a meeting held at TEVTA Secretariat here yesterday to finalize the contents of the MoU which has already been signed by both organizations. The meeting was presided over by Chairman TEVTA/TEVTEC Saeed Ahmad Alvi and attended by representatives of Getronics and officers of TEVTA. According to the MoU, this collaboration will provide strategic and specific support for the use of Information Communication Technology (ICT). Getronics will offer a donation of US $ 500,000 for setting up of ICT center of excellence. Wide Area Network including connectivity on a managed services basis will also be offered at 450 TEVTA institutes. A state of the art Data Center will also be established as the hub of all its ICT activities. Getronics will assist TEVTA in developing a distance learning center and provision of learning over networked video in student/industry classes on a joint venture basis. Getronics will sponsor stipends for 300 students during the first year, another badge of 300 students during 2nd year and 400 students during the final year. Each stipend will be almost Rs 2,000.
