They have a case

India claims to be the greatest democracy of world but is such a sham democracy that it is holding the Muslim majority state of Jammu and Kashmir in bondage since Partition. Over 80 percent population of the state is Muslim and it ought to have joined Pakistan being largely contiguous to Pakistan. But India manoeuvred to obtain a document of accession from the unpopular Hindu Raja to join India against wishes of the people of Kashmir. India has been keeping a troops strength of 700,000 in Kashmir to forcibly occupy the state against will of the Kashmiri people. It does so with untold atrocities and violations of human rights at the hands of its berserk soldiers. The UN resolutions to hold a plebiscite to determine the will of people of Kashmir have been flouted as was the declaration of late Prime Minister, Jawahar Lal Nehru who said that India did not want a forced marriage with Kashmir and Kashmiris could decide to go their way if they wanted to join Pakistan. Quaid-e-Azam had declared Kashmir the jugular vein of Pakistan as all our rivers flow out of Kashmir to then fall into Pakistan. These rivers provide water, life blood to Pakistans agricultural economy. India cares a fig about morality and international law as it is supported by another claimant to the title of 'The greatest democracy of world, USA, which does not bat an eye over the unjust occupation of Kashmir by India. Both are chips off the same block and India is patronised by USA against all norms of justice and fair play. While Pakistanis lay down their lives fighting the US war on terror, India is coddled by the US getting all the benefits of a strategic partner. -DR M. YAQOOB BHATTI, Lahore, July 22.
