UoG plans awards, incentives for faculty members

GUJRAT - The University of Gujrat (UOG) announced various incentives for faculty members to improve quality of education and promote the culture of research and development in the university. In this regard, the UoG announced “the best teacher and the best mentor” awards, supplementing seed funds for the ongoing research projects with new breakthroughs in the health and insurance schemes for its employees. Dean Faculty of Sciences Dr Muhammad Faheem Malik informed during an informal dinner of faculty members belonging to different departments that Best Teacher and Best Mentor Awards for 2016 would be bestowed on the most dedicated and inspirational teachers, having outstanding performances. Furthermore, the researchers will get supplementary of Rs100,000 as seed money for enhancement of their projects.
He told the participants that VC Dr Ziaul Qayyum has constituted a committee for each project comprising senior officials working on criterion regarding eligibility for coveted awards.
Dr Malik said that the UoG is also planning introducing a housing scheme for which a piece of suitable land measuring about 200 acres is being search for.
Botany Department Chairperson Dr Muhammad Sajjad Iqbal supervised the meeting.
