Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani, appreciating the formation of a special constitutional reforms panel by the National Assembly Speaker, vowed Wednesday that the 1973 Constitution would be restored in its original form for the supremacy of the Parliament. Speaking in the House, the Prime Minister said that it was the commitment of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and a part of the manifesto of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to restore the 1973 Constitution in its original form and in this regard the parliamentary committee would recommend amendments to the Constitution. With the constitution of the Parliamentary committee the role of the Speaker is over and now the role of the committee has started to fulfil the objective, he said.
