PESHAWAR - Former chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Haider Khan Hoti and ex-provincial minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain are likely to be elected unopposed today (Tuesday) as provincial president and general secretary of ANP respectively. As expected earlier that Haider Hoti and Mian Iftikhar would get the top slots in coming provincial cabinet of the party.
“Instead of Peshawar, the elections for provincial office-bearers of the party will now be held at Wali Bagh, Charsadda in the presence of party’s central leader Asfandyar Wali Khan,” it has been learnt.
The election process will begin at 10:am. A total of 400 members of the ANP’s provincial council will participate in the election process. However, it is strongly expected that ex-chief minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti and former provincial minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain are likely to be elected unopposed. Under the agreed arrangements, besides Ameer Haider Hoti and Mian Iftikhar Hussian, office-bearers for the remaining slots may also be elected unopposed.
After the completion of elections at provincial level, elections for the party central cabinet would be held soon after Eidul Fitar.
