Islamabad - Drive to get donations, either for religious or non-profitable organizations, is getting momentum with the advent of holy month of Ramazan.
The organisations are somehow busy to collect maximum funds from people in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Talking to APP, Sonia Khan, a household wife, said that some charities had been giving advertisements in order to collect donations by highlighting their steps for the well being of deprived segments of the society.
She said that she was getting a new pamphlet almost daily with the drop of newspaper in the morning, asking for aid and portraying pictures of poor people.
Waseem Khatana said some religious scholars were asking for donations of Zakat, Fitrana, and Sadaqaat etc, for their institutions. He said that banners of different organizations were on display at every nook and corner of the markets asking for financial aid. Certain organizations have also displayed their banners on the poles of streetlights on various avenues and streets of the twin cities, he added.

She called for conducting a survey to ascertain whereabouts of those organizations, which are trying to collect donations especially in the sacred month of Ramazan.
“No body knows where these organizations spend the money collected in the name of donations,” she said and added this was possible that some of the organizations may fund any terrorist organizations.
