Copa America hosts, Chile, will take on Uruguay later tonight in what is expected to be a highly competitive encounter. A rejuvenated Chile team will be looking to send the Uruguayans packing as they face them in the first quarter final of Copa America 2015.

Chile is so far unbeaten in the competition with two very impressive victories over Ecuador and Bolivia whilst drawing 3-3 against Mexico. Meanwhile, a Suarez-less Uruguay have not been in the best of forms, narrowly escaping their group and reaching the quarter finals. They have so far disappointed with one loss, a draw and a very close 1-0 victory over a weak Jamaican outfit.

Things have not worked out for Uruguay who are missing the services of ruthless Barcelona forward, Luis Suarez following a ban inflicted a year ago after he bit Italy’s Giorgio Chillieni in the world cup. Uruguayan goal keeper, Muslera has been the better player so far for Uruguay bagging just a single clean sheet. The attack has been lacking intent thus far whilst the midfield has faced difficulty holding the ball and creating chances.

Chile, on the other hand, has been enjoying hosting the Copa, bagging 7 points out of a possible 9. They have been the brightest team in the competition so far, scoring ten goals and keeping two clean sheets. Stars like Arturo Vidal, Alexis Sanchez, Jorge Valdivia and Claudio Bravo have all shined for them. Coach Sampaoli’s tactics have suited Chile and they will be looking to bank on their inspirational form.

All of this can change however, at least according to Uruguayan coach, Oscar Tabarez, who believes that his team can give the hosts a run for their money saying that it’s important to peak at the right time and from quarter finals onwards it’s all luck which could favor Uruguay come Wednesday.
