LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Tuesday dismissed bail petition of a suspect involved in lynching of a Christian couple for alleged blasphemy in Kot Radha Kishan.

Imran Masih, suspect, pleaded through his counsel that he had no link to the lynching incident. He said the police implicated him in the case only to increase number of the arrested persons.

A deputy prosecutor, however, opposed his arguments and said that the suspect was an active participant of the angry mob that lynched the couple. He said the suspect was identified through record of mobile videos filmed by the onlookers. After hearing both sides, a division bench dismissed the application.

Meanwhile, the Lahore High Court granted bail to ten suspects involved in damaging public property outside Yuhannabad, a Christian community locality on Ferozepur Road, to protest suicide attacks on two churches.–Staff Reporter
