KARACHI: No significant developments have been made in the investigation of the abduction of Owais Shah, son of Sindh High Court (SHC) Chief Justice (CJ) Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, five days after his kidnapping.
Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday met with Sajjad Ali Shah and condoled over the disappearance of his son on the behalf of Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif. Dar stated that the PM directed that all available resources be utilised in order to recover Owais Shah.
Lawyers in Sindh boycotted the proceedings of the courts on the fifth day as thousands of cases in the Sindh High Court, city court, Malir court and other many other courts in the city remained unheard.
Lawyers in Sukkur demonstrated against Owais Shah’s kidnapping in the court’s premises whereas lawyers in Lahore, Islamabad and Rawalpindi also boycotted proceedings.
Police claimed of tracing the routes taken by the kidnappers of Shah after retrieving the Close Circuit Television (CCTV) camera footage but no breakthrough has yet been achieved.
