Rain lessens intensity of heat in city
Rain with gusty winds in Lahore and its suburban areas early Saturday morning lessened the intensity of hot weather and provided relief to people. According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, more rain is expected at isolated places in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Multan divisions, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country during the past 24 hours. However, rain-thundershowers with gusty winds occurred at isolated places in Malakand, Kohat, Bannu, DG Khan, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Rawalpindi divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.–APP
Debate on Global Action Team
A debate was hosted by Lahore The Trainers Lions Club (LTTLC) on Global Action Team (GAT) and its use at all clubs of Lions Clubs International (LCI) on Saturday. The Lions Club International is an international humanitarian organization with 1.5 million members worldwide. There are 47,000 plus Lions clubs in the world. Lions are serving 200 million people every year through its clubs. These services include the service areas of vision, hunger, youth, disaster relief, environment, paediatric cancer and diabetes. Now The Global Action Team Programme aims to help even more so that someday “Where ever there is need, there is a Lion”. The panel debating GAT consisted of the following Senior Lions Leadership. The event host Anthony Williams, President-Elect, LTTLC, moderated the debate and the panellist concluded that GAT is the way to take clubs forward in serving people all over the World. Lion Pins were awarded to all the participants and they were entertained with refreshments and one on one chat with the senior leadership. The next debate will be held in July 2018 at Lahore Chamber of Commerce. LTTLC President-Elect Anthony Williams said that this event would help in awareness among public about helping people across Pakistan adding that Ï invite people of Pakistan to join this humanitarian cause for well being of people. Among others, Lion Naseem Ul Ghani, District Governor District 305 N1 and Global Action Team District Coordinator Lion Saqib Rahim, District Leadership Team District Coordinator Lion Ayaz Alvi, District Service Team District Coordinator Lion Nadeem ul Haq, Multi District Global Leadership Coordinator participated in the event. –PR
