Ali Jahangir urges Pakistani community to build better image of Pakistan

Pakistan's newly appointed Ambassador to the United States (US), Ali Jahangir Siddiqui, has said that Pakistan is on its way to revival and reemergence.

He was talking to Pakistani community in an event held to welcome him, Siddiqui said, "everyone needs to participate in Pakistan’s revival and reemergence and we are our well on our way towards it."

He added, "I am not denying we have challenges, but many countries have challenges."

He added it would be difficult to find a country that is not facing one.

The new ambassador did not touch upon Pakistan-US relationship at the event, but he encouraged the Pakistani-American's present to take part in politics leading to Pakistan being more represented.

Furthermore, Siddiqui urged the Pakistani Americans to step forward work for the better image of Pakistan rather than talking about the negativity.

He encouraged Pakistani community to participate alongside him and also hold him accountable, and work with him in order to get Pakistan back to where it once was.

He said, "You can support us in many ways. But more important than that is to participate in your political discourse and process."

He added, "If you can do that, then you can carry the Pakistan story and naturally offer a perspective that is your own, presenting Pakistan in a fair way."

Earlier, Siddiqui had met US President Donald Trump and presented his credentials to him.
