ISLAMABAD -The exchange rate of Pakistani rupee weakened by 35 paisas against the US dollar in the interbank trading on Wednesday and closed at Rs158.53 as compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs158.18. According to Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollar in the open market were recorded at Rs 158.7 and Rs 159.6 respectively. Similarly, the price of euro appreciated by Rs 1.05 and closed at Rs189.21 against the last day’s trading of Rs188.16, the State Bank of Pakistan reported. The Japanese Yen lost one paisa to close at Rs1.42, whereas an increase of Rs 1.80 was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs221.26 as compared to its last closing of Rs219.46. The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by 09 paisas each to close at Rs43.15 and Rs42.27 respectively.
