It was astonishing to see in the newspapers the colourful advertisement of Basant placed by Punjab government. The government has done it in the name of Jashn-e-Baharan but the point is it has allowed kite flying subject to certain restrictions. The government could have simply done it through a press release or announced it on the dozen of private news channels available to it. They say while Rome burnt, Nero played the fiddle. -MASHKOOR A.
