'Cross-border elements may create tension in IHK polls'

NEW DELHI (Agencies) - "Mischievous elements" from across the border may try to create tension during elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Indian Defence Minister A K Antony warned on Monday. When asked to comment on the possible situation in the state during elections in wake of the recent terror activities, he said, "Regarding the election time, you can't guarantee what will happen." The Indian Defence Minister said the government was taking all measures to provide security to the elections. "We are taking all precautions. We are not leaving anything to chance. Whatever is needed to assure security in the election time, we will give," he said. On Sunday's exchange of fire on the LoC, he said the govt has already taken up the matter with Pakistan. "We have already taken up yesterday's incidents with Pakistan," Antony said.
