Federal Minister for law and Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Babar Awan has said that the constitutional Package, which was prepared by Parliamentary Committee on Constitutional Reforms (PCCR), would be tabled in the Parliament in the current month. After tabling Constitutional reforms Package in the Parliament by Government, President Asif Ali Zardari would address the joint sitting of Parliament, he said this while talking to media men after inaugurating the library, cafeteria Barroom at building of Islamabad High Court on Wednesday. Answering to a question, he said, the final date with regard to tabling of Constitutional reforms Package in the Parliament would be sorted out by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani. He ruled out any deadlock in Parliamentary committee on Constitutional Reforms saying dialogue with regard to renaming of the NWFP is underway. A meeting of Sub-Committee would be held today (Thursday) to repeal 17th amendment, he said, adding that, amendment would be made in the constitutional through 2/3 majority. We would take political parties, civil society and all stakeholders into confidence, Babar added. He also announced Rs. 1.5 million for renovation of library, barroom and cafeteria of Islamabad High Court. He vowed to digitalize libraries of all bar associations. Draft of accountability bill, the federal minister said, would be tabled in the Parliament after approval by concerned committee. Round about 18,000 cases would be transferred in Islamabad High Court after its complete revival, he said. Tribunals would also be appointed on vacant seats in IHC, he added.
