ISLAMABAD Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) busted 10 notorious gangs and nabbed a total of 41 accused involved in cases of blind murders, dacoities, auto-theft and recovered gold ornaments worth over Rs10 million, cash, mobile phones, gemstones, vehicle and illegal weapons from their custody. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan said that the different cases were transferred to CIA. The SSP added that CIA officers constituted teams which succeeded during the last month to resolve cases of two blind murders, 14 dacoities, many snatching incidents of valuables at gunpoint, domestic thefts and car thefts. A total of 41 persons of 10 criminal gangs were also nabbed by these police teams. The SSP said that CIA police team arrested the killers of daughter of Hamid Naveed who was murdered after being kidnapped and her body was dumped in Swan nullah after being tied with stone near area of Gorha Mast. The alleged killers were arrested besides the recovery of the body from the said place after three months, he said. The SSP added CIA got another success when it resolved another blind murder case of Malik Zahoor Ahmed who was assassinated by unidentified persons riding on Yamaha motorbike near Peshawar More in sector G-9/4 on July 14, 2006. The killers managed to flee after leaving motorcycle at scene. He said this case was reopened and the complete detail about the motorbike was obtained from Yamaha Company Karachi. It was revealed that this motorbike was delivered to Nazar Hussain, a dealer in Gujrat. Later, this motorbike was purchased by Muhammad Ansar from Faisal Motors Kutchery Road Gujrat on June 26, 2006. The accused Ansar went on hiding after this murder and he was arrested on March 11, 2011. It was revealed that he along with his other accomplice Mazhar Shah killed Zahoor Ahmed after getting Rs500,000 from Muhammad Shehbaz and Riaz Karim. On the basis of investigation, M Shehbaz and Riaz Karim had been arrested while Mazhar Shah was earlier assassinated in Gujrat. Giving the further details about those involved in dacoities and car theft incidents, the SSP said that nabbed persons had also remained jailbirds earlier. Other criminals used to snatch cash and other items at gunpoint from pedestrians, house inmates, store owners and also deprived several persons of their valuables after getting job as servants in their houses. These nabbed persons have confessed to commit most of dacoities and thefts in the areas of Margallah, Sabzi Mandi, Kohsar, Shalimar, Sihala, Koral and Shehzad town police stations. The victims of these crime incidents were also present on the occasion who appreciated CIA police for resolving their cases on immediate basis and thanked SSP Islamabad and personnel of Islamabad police for their cooperation.
