ISLAMABAD Joint Investigation Team in Shahbaz Bhatti murder case after investigation released owner of the suspected vehicle who was arrested from Jehlum, sources informed The Nation on Wednesday. The sources said that an eyewitness, who informed the police about white-coloured Mehran Suzuki car, could not identify the vehicle. Meanwhile, the JIT investigated the owner of car. His cellphones record and location on the day of crime was investigated. However, his location has been found in Jehlum and witnesses in his village said his car was in Jehlum on that day. Earlier, the JIT had set free police constable of Secretariat Police, who was detained for his suspected involvement in Bhatti murder case. The JIT could not find any clue from the police constable. The sources further said that the JIT collected the bio-data of all the rent-a-car owners in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The private relationship of slain Bhatti with his wife, a Pakistani born British Nurse and his official staffs and about 200 activists of the banned outfit have been thoroughly investigated, however no clue has been found yet. Since Shahbaz Bhatti has responded aggressively to Gojra, Faisalabad and Gujranwala incidents happened against Christians, so that the JIT started investigation the case to that extent. SSP Tahir Alam Khan, who is also head of JIT, while talking to this scribe, said that JIT is using all means and ways to reach the culprits. He confirmed that the arrested police constable and the suspected car and his owners have been released.
