LAHORE Pakistan Movement Workers celebrated Pakistan Day at Aiwan-e-Karkunan Tehrik-e-Pakistan here on Wednesday with a pledge to continue their struggle in making the country according to the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Addressing a special sitting jointly organised by Nazaria Pakistan Trust (NPT) and Pakistan Movement Workers Trust (PMWT), the speakers stressed, Sincere, bold and visionary leadership committed to secure ideological and geographical boundaries of the country is the need of the hour. Senior Pakistan Movement Worker Colonel (r) Amjad Hussain Syed presided over the programme. TheNation Editor-in-Chief and Nazaria Pakistan Trust Chairman Majid Nizami hoisted the national flag and congratulated the gold medallists of PMWT, those participated in the ceremony as chief guests. Nizami said the former incompetent civil and military ruler was responsible for the crises facing Pakistan today. However, he thanked the Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani 'for not taking over the government even in the favourable situation. He told the gathering that the Aiwan was the gift of former Punjab chief minister late Ghulam Haider Wyne for the people of Pakistan. He said the Two-nation theory was the basis of the country and the youth must learn that 'why we have achieved Pakistan, he added. He recalled the miseries of the Muslims before partition and said the situation brought outcome that the freedom was a great gift. You cant imagine how the Muslims in Indo-Pak had been deprived from the basic rights by the dominant Hindus. However, he regretted that after achieving Pakistan and having rich land and resources, there was no electricity and gas. We as a nation are all responsible for the crises, because, we elect the incapable leaders to rule on us, he said and urged the participants to vote for sincere leaders in next election. Nizami termed the Presidents speech to Parliament as meaningless. He prayed of getting rid of the existing rulers, however, he maintained the democratic system must continue in Pakistan. Amjad Hussain Syed said Majid Nizami was the real heir of his elder brothers (Hameed Nizami) mission. I always pray for him as he is the spiritual son of Allama Iqbal. He said the NPT was the only Trust promoting the thoughts of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Although, the situation in the country was not favourable but we should not lose hope, he said, adding only a brave leader could rectify the whole system. NPT Vice-chairman Prof Dr Rafique Ahmad recalled the days of Pakistan Movement when he had seen the Quaid very closely. He said the movement for Pakistan was actually the movement for the revival of Islam. Sahibzada Sultan Ahmad Ali, Syed Ahmad Saeed Kirmani, Sahibzada Khalil Ahmad Sharaqpuri, Agha Naseer Ahmad, Brigadier (r) Zafar Iqbal, Colonel (r) Zahoor-ul-Haq and Shahid Rasheed also addressed on the occasion. Colonel (r) Jamshed Ahmad Tareen, Colonel (r) Saleem Malk, Sardar Shuja-ud-Din, Dr MA Soofi, Colonel (r) Ikram Ullah, Anwar Hussain Qadri, Zafar Ullah Khan, Ashraf Khan, Ibrahim Tahir, Mustafa Kamal, Sadiq Malk, Prof Humyoun Ahsan, Tayyaba Zia, Syed Nadeem-ul-Hassan, Rafaqat Riaz and a large number of people from various walks of life attended the ceremony.
