Governor confers civil awards on 47 personalities

LAHORE - In recognition of their meritorious services in different fields, Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa on Friday awarded 47 bright individuals with Civil Award on behalf of the President Asif Ali Zardari on the occasion of Pakistan Day at Governor’s House.
Nine individuals were awarded with Sitar-i-Imtiaz, 24 received the President’s Pride of Performance Award and 15 got Tamga-i-Imtiaz. Chief Secretary Punjab Nasir Mehmood Khosa was in charge of citation, while several dignitaries including senior civil and military officers graced the occasion.
Those who were conferred Sitra-e-Imtiaz included: Mr Qasim Zia, Prof Dr Mehdi Hassan, Muhammad Qavi Khan, Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan, Prof Dr Hassan Amir Shah, Prof Dr Abdul Hameed, Sayed Mashkoor Hussain Yaad, Prof. Saeed Akhtar and Mr Mubashar Lucman.  
President’s Pride of Performance award went to the following notables: Dr Waqas Masood, Dr Mehboobur Rehman, Dr Syed Tauseef Mohyud-Din, Prof Dr Muhammad Sharif Tahir, Mr Nawazish Ali Hazervi, Syed Mohsin Raza Gillani, Ms Saba Hamid, Prof Dr Rahat Naveed Masud, Mr Soonana Ashar, Mr Tariq Khurshid Malik, Khawaja Muhammad Zakariya, and Mr Muhammad Yousaf.
The recipients of Tamgha-i-Imtiaz  included: Dr Abdul Qayyum, Dr Qaisar Mahmood, Prof Dr Arshad Saleem Bhatti, Dr Sohail Nadeem, Mr Mansoor Ali Malangi, Mr Akhtar Hussain, Mr Sabir Hussain, Dr SA Rehman, Mr Mansoor Niazi, Mr Kazi Javed, Mr Muhammad Hafeez Ullah Khan, Mr Shakir Hussain Shakir, Dr Ahmad Bakhtiyar Ashraf, Mrs Tamseel Saeed, Sardar Muhammad Saad Ullah Khan, Mr Muhammad Riaz Shahid, Prof Rashid Ahmed Khan, Sardar Khan Niazi, Miss Kiran Khan, Mr Abdul Razzaq, Malik Nazir Ahmed Wattoo, Dr Ahmad Raza, Mr Muhammad Saleem Hassan Wattoo, Mr Asad Abbas Awan, Prof Javed Akram and Dr Shafiq Anwer.
