RAHIM YAR KHAN-The Chenab Welfare Society (CWS) arranged a mass wedding ceremony for 51 poor and deserving couples at Chowk Bahadurpur on national highway here on Monday.
A large number of citizens from different walks of life attended the ceremony.
Philanthropist and CWS chairman Chaudhry Shafiq organised the mass wedding as the society arranges wedding of 18 deserving couples every month and distributes Rs3,000 per month to 1,105 widows while Rs1,000 per month to 2,510 orphans. Speaking on the occasion, he emphasised that the District Flour Mills Association and Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association RYK chapter should come forwards and patronise such welfare activities.
