LAHORE - Condemning twin blasts outside Youhanabad churches and lynching of two Muslims by violent protesters after the terrorist attacks, All Parties Azam-e-Pakistan Conference has announced to launch a special campaign for promoting interfaith harmony in the country.

According to a joint communiqué issued after the conference arranged by Tanzeem Ittehad-e-Ummat Pakistan at a local hotel on Monday, the participants decided to convene Interfaith Conference in Lahore on April 1.

Zia-ul-Haq Naqashbandi chaired the APC that was attended by Sarwat Ijaz Qadri, Raghib Hussain Naeemi, Ahmed Ali Kasuri, Shadab Raza qadri, Naeem Noori, Haseeb Qadri, Nazir Ghazi, Mazhar Barlas, Shahid Hussain Gardezi, Muaz-ul-Mustafa, Liaqat Siddiqi, Ehsan Siddiqi, Shafiq Sialvi, Haji Nadeem, Sulema Ch, Bashir Yousafi, Mian Razwan, Mufti Naeem, Tanveer Zeeshan and others.

Addressing a press conference on the conclusion of the APC, Tanzeem Ittehad-e-Ummat Pakistan chairman Ziaul Haq Naqashbandi said that the joint communiqué demanded arrest of protesters involved in lynching of two Muslims and compensation of Rs5 million and 50 acre land for the bereaved families as it was earlier given to the heirs of Christian couple in Kot Radha Kishan.

He said that a delegation of ulema and mashaikh would meet families of victims of twin blasts on March 25. He said that the same delegation would also meet the families of Hafiz Naeem and Nauman Babar, youths lynched by protesting Christian after the twin blasts.

He said that Tanzeem Ittehad-e-Ummat Pakistan would send letters to the President, Prime Minister and other high ups carrying workable proposals for curbing extremism, terrorism and sectarian violence.

The communiqué fully supported Operation Zarb-e-Azb and cleanup operation in Karachi, demanding expanding it to all over the country and that purging the country of terrorists and anti-social elements should be speed up to rid the nation of the menace of terrorism as soon as possible.

It demanded impartial investigation into the allegation of MQM hit man Saulat Mirza, restoration of all criminal cases abolished under NRO by Gen Musharraf, all terrorists and their patrons should be put on ECL, withdrawing of all efforts to amend the blasphemy laws and abolishing of interest based economy and banking system.
