The trade bodies and industrial associations on Monday, appreciating the rangers operation to eradicate crime from Karachi, said that the move will have positive impact on the sentiments of investors.

All Pakistan Textile Mills Association chairman SM Tanveer said that the financial and industrial capital of Pakistan will become peaceful to play its role in the national development if operation was kept above political and all other considerations. He said that at a time when the government was striving for attracting foreign investment and encouraging local businesses, the deteriorating law and order situation is putting a reverse gear to all its efforts.

He said that the business community plays an important role in running the affairs of the country and the govt should take special steps to protect the businessmen from any such incident. He said that the bad law and order situation was not only badly affecting the business transactions between Karachi and Lahore but also forcing the businessmen of the upcountry to close down their businesses with Sindh. He said that govt strict measures will control law & order situation in Karachi.

SM Tanveer said that the business community has been extremely upset with the existing scenario. Target killings and daylight dacoities are forcing businessmen to close down their businesses.

President Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders Kamran Abbasi demanded of the government to keep business community away from the critical matters of national security and they should not have any access to sensitive data. He said that inclusion of traders of questionable repute in some bodies may hinder action against criminals, he observed.
