Islamabad - The ministry of climate change has summoned the meeting of Departmental Development Working Party (DDWP) for getting the approval of seven key projects of the ministry for avoiding the destruction caused by the national disasters, The Nation has learnt. Sources informed The Nation that the ministry would also get the approval of Rs 3300 million for the completion of seven projects. The officials of finance division, planning division, chairman National Disaster Management Authority, inspector general of forest, director general environment department and other concerned people have been asked to ensure their presence in the meeting.

Sources said the ministry will get the permission of the project for establishment of climate change reporting unit in ministry, worth Rs 400 million; up-gradation of Pakistan Trade Control of Wild Fauna and Flora Act, worth Rs 200 million; installation of Risk Assessment and National Disaster Risk Information system, worth Rs 580 million; National Disaster Special Data Infrastructure, worth Rs 596 million; awareness campaigns, capacity building and trainings of government officials and other stakeholders on how to perform during emergency situation, worth Rs 240 million; bringing natural disaster-affected people to mainstream, worth Rs 580 million; and data compilation in accordance with the  international agreements on wildlife, sea life and forestry, worth Rs 600 million.
