MPs body to evolve consensus on PIA bill

ISLAMABAD  - A special committee to evolve consensus between government and opposition over six controversial bills including PIA privatization will hold its first meeting today.
The committee will hold three to four meetings to remove reservations of opposition over these bills, a member of the committee told The Nation yesterday.
The fate of PIA privatization will be deliberated in this special parliamentary committee to table this bill again in the joint session after nearly three weeks (April 11).
The ten members of committee including Mushahid Hussain (PML-Q), Mir Hasil Bazenjo from National Party (NP), Saeed Ghani (PPP), Naveed Qamar (PPP), Asad Umar (PTI), Maulana Fazlur Rahman (JUI-F), Farooq Sattar (MQM), Minister for Climate Change Zahid Hamid, Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir will discuss different clauses of the bills.
This committee will submit its recommendation on April 7 to Speaker National Assembly.
