LAHORE: Govt Islamia College Railway Road organised a Naat Khawani and Qirat contest at the divisional level in connection with Pakistan Day celebrations, says a press release.

A good number of students from different colleges of the Punjab participated in this contest. Khalid Javed, DPI Colleges Punjab was the chief guest on the occasion, whereas, the ceremony was presided over by college Principal Tahir Javed.

Also, a Naat competition was held at district level in Government Islamia College Civil Lines.

The event was chaired by college principal Professor Talat Dar while Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yaseen was the chief guest. Director Colleges Prof Rana Muhammad Naseem and Deputy Director Colleges Prof Zahid Mian were among other guests.

Hafiz Ghulam Murtaza, Muhammad Luqman and Zain-ul-Abideen secured first, second and third position, respectively, in Qiraat competition. In the naat contest, Seerat Ali, Muhammad Umar Farooq and Muhmmad Abubakr won first, second and third position, respectively.
