OUR STAFF REPORTER KARACHI - The closing ceremony of the NBP Inter Academy Cricket League was held here the other day at Vital Five Club Ground, adjacent to SKBZ and DHA College Khyaban-e-Rahat Phase VI. A festival Twenty20 match between NBP XI and CCA XI was played on the occasion. CCA won by Customs Cricket Academy by 20 runs. After the match, the prize distribution ceremony was held Hussain Lawai President and CEO of Summit Bank Limited was the chief guest and distributed the trophies and other prizes among the players. Media people, Sports personalities and Organizers are also invited on the occasion. Jalaluddin, the chief coach of Customs Cricket Academy, in his speech highlighted the objectives to organize the tournament (develop club culture) and explain the detail of the tournament. The tournament was organized on double league basis with the concept of home and away matches of First XI and Second XI . Jalal also announced the First ever indoor cricket tournament in First week of the June to be played at JCA indoor cricket arena Korangi in the lights. The chief guest was pleased to be guest of honour in a cricket event after a long period of 17 years and thanked Khalil Masood (Founder CCA) for inviting him. He recalled the days when he was in MCB and a die hard supporter of cricket. He identified the roots cause decline of the Pakistan cricket. In his opinion nothing was done at grass roots level.
