ISLAMABAD - Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is most likely to announce soon the results of referendum organised by the party to evolve consensus on the sovereignty of the country following the US operation in Abbottabad on May 2. Almost results from all corners have been received and after compiling them in one report the results would be announced in two to three days, MQM sources told TheNation. Muttahida conducted a weeklong countrywide referendum over Abbottabad operation and released 17 questions seeking peoples opinion till May 17. xThe sources said that senior members of the party had held a detailed meeting discussing the announcement of referendums result, which is likely in three coming days. Party workers have almost compiled the result as only final touches are required, said the sources. Talking to TheNation, MQM leader Wasay Jalil said that they had received almost all the forms to make final result. Party level meeting in this regard is being held, he added. It was also questioned in the referendum whether the drone attacks on the country were occurring with or without the consent of the Armed Forces and the government. Earlier, senior MQM leader Farooq Sattar had reportedly said that a large number of people across the country have voted in referendum. He said the MQM was also using the latest technology such as Facebook, Twitter and blogs to obtain peoples opinion by May 17.
