KUWAIT CITY - Nobody is allowed to hold a protest in Kuwait without formal permission from the government. Those violating the order or blocking any road would be fined 1,000 Kuwaiti Dinar and imprisoned for two years, says an order issued by Interior Ministrys Under Secretary Ghazi al Omar. According to the order, anyone who turned up to watch an unauthorized protest would be fined 500 Kuwaiti Dinars and six months in jail. The order said nobody would be allowed to take the law into his own hands and the government would ensure peace in the country.
