ISLAMABAD - Armed Forces on Monday beefed up the security of important defence installations following terrorists attack on PNS Mehran, sources said. They said the Defence Ministry directed the departments concerned to take adequate measures to ensure security at the key strategic installations. Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry has also issued special instructions to tighten the countrys security especially of the sensitive government installations. An official in the ministry informed that standing orders had been issued to all the law enforcement agencies including police, Rangers and Frontier Corpse (FC) for improved coordination with one another while taking the security measures. Following the directives, checking of vehicles at entry and exit points of the major cities and the security of all the important government installations at provincial headquarters has been improved. Interior Ministry has also directed the capital police to strictly follow the Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the security the public places, mosques and government buildings including the Parliament House, Parliament Lodges and others.
