ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has condemned the reported attack on the Consulate General of India in Afghan city of Herat on Friday.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Tasnim Aslam reiterated condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

She said no cause justifies targeting of diplomatic missions. She said it is a matter of relief that nobody from the Consulate staff was hurt.

As reported earlier, four heavily armed militants attacked the Indian Consulate in Herat near the border with Iran on Friday morning.  Herat police chief said four attackers, including suicide bombers, entered houses close to the Consulate before dawn and began shooting into the compound. –Online

Two suicide bombers were killed and one wounded during the encounter.

Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesman in New Delhi said all the staff members in the Consulate are safe.
