LAHORE - Leaders of PTI Punjab while demanding foolproof security for their public meeting at Faisalabad on Sunday (tomorrow) warned that Punjab government would be held responsible if any untoward incident occurs during the event.

This demand and warning was made by PTI Punjab President, Ijaz Chaudhry and General Secretary, Dr Yasmin Rashid during a Press conference at party’s provincial secretariat on Friday. Opposition Leader Punjab Assembly and PTI leader, Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Aslam Ghumman and Sadia Saif were also present on this occasion.

PTI Punjab leaders alleged that provincial rulers through provincial Special Secretary home, Dr Shoaib had sent a letter to PTI leadership warning them of possible security threat to their demonstration on May 25 at Faisalabad.

They questioned: Did Home Department sent a similar letter to the PML-N top leadership, as Prime Minister is also going to address a public meeting at Faisalabad on May 28.  They asked: Whether the possible security threat conveyed by the Special Secretary Home is only for the PTI or PML-N can also be under the same threat.

PTI leaders while demanding foolproof security for May 25 demonstration alleged that ruling party was making efforts to stop the public meetings of other political parties under the garb of so-called security threats to cover their poor performance.

They claimed that DPOs and DCOs in the province warning the transporters of cancelling their route permits and operating licences if they ferry the PTI workers to Faisalabad, while the provincial government has also directed the authorities concerned for getting closed the petrol and gas stations on May 25.

Opposition Leader on this occasion claimed that provincial capital was one of 10 cities of the world which is providing most polluted water to its citizens.

He said that Opposition would expose the poor performance of the provincial government on its completion of one-year in power on June 5.
