Governor pledges to promote education as top priority

BAHAWALPUR
Punjab Governor Rafique Rajwana has said that the promotion of education in the province particularly in South Punjab is among his top priorities.
He said that through improvement of quality in teaching and research, a positive change can be brought in the prevailing socio-economic condition of the country.
He expressed these views during a meeting with IUB Dr Vice Chancellor Qaiser Mushtaq at Governor’s House Lahore here the other day.
The Governor said that the government was focusing on development of education sector, specifically the higher education. The universities of Southern Punjab were benefiting through these initiatives and it augurs well that the IUB students getting the benefits of the Prime Minister youth initiatives of fee reimbursement and laptops schemes.
He was of the view that the students were industrious and talented and they must be provided encouragement and patronage.
On the occasion, The VC extended his greetings to the Rafique Rajwana on assuming the charge of the Punjab Governor and apprised him about the ongoing academic and development activities of IUB.
Dr Qaiser Mushtaq briefed the Governor about the current academic activities and development of GSCWU Bahawalpur. The Governor Punjab assured the Vice Chancellor of his utmost co-operation wherever required to facilitate the students and faculty.
GOVT ASKED TO SEND TROOPS TO KSA: Jamaatud Dawa Pakistan leader Hafiz Abdul Rehman Maki said that without the elimination of the India and US interference, Karachi like incidents could not be stopped. The government should arrest murders without considering any formality and people who were training and funding terrorists should be unveiled in front of the world.
He expressed these views while addressing the party worker at Markaz Al Badar Shikarpuri Gate here the other day.
He said that the threat of the rebellious tribe to hit the holy cities and firing missiles into Saudi Arabia was tantamount to attacking the entire Muslim world, including Pakistan.
He urged the government to sent troops to Saudi Arab. “We will support the government and the army in this noble cause,” said Maki.
He said that the people of Pakistan were standing firm in support of their Saudi brethren.
Maki said that Pakistan was created on the base of Kalma Tayyaba for which hundreds of thousand people sacrificed their lives and got the country.
