The Chenab Rangers has handed over the dead body of an Indian girl, found a couple of days in Chenab River, to the Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) here.

Chenab Rangers Sialkot Sector Commander Brig Waseem handed over the dead body to the Indian BSF officials during a ceremony held at Chenab Rangers’ Inayat Shaheed Post near Bajwat-Sialkot along the Sialkot Working Boundary.

According to the senior officials of the Chenab Rangers in Sialkot, the 28 years old Indian girl had reached Head Marala-Sialkot after floating into the River Chenab some three days ago.

Some local people had found it, while local police had buried the dead body in a local graveyard near Head Marala-Sialkot here temporarily.

Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) had formally requested the Chenab Rangers for the early return of the Indian woman’s dead body back to the Indian BSF, the senior CR officials added. A spokesperson of the Chenab Rangers said that Indian BSF has claimed that the said girl, 28, was an Indian national.

Meanwhile, former PML-N MPA Imran Ashraf’s mother died after protracted illness. She was laid to rest in her graveyard here. A large number of people from all walks of life attended her funeral.
