LAHORE - Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Operating Officer (COO) Subhan Ahmad has said that the board has been getting green signals from the board of other countries.
Talking to the reporters here at the Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday, Subhan said: “The PCB has been getting green signals from the cricket boards of other counties which is a good omen for Pakistan cricket. I hope they will soon tour Pakistan soon. The boards, who had contacted the PCB earlier regarding touring Pakistan, are now keen to play with us at our home grounds.” He lauded the crowd for their remarkable support to both the teams which portrayed a positive image of the country to the outer world. “The way the crowd has supported cricket in a remarkable way during the first Twenty20 international is highly laudable. I hope they will remain well-disciplined and supporting in the T20I as well.”
The PCB COO said: “The revival of international cricket in Pakistan will further boost the love and passion of cricket among the masses. They will once again see their players live in action at their home grounds. This will bring Pakistan cricket to new heights.”
Subhan also said that they were aware of the problems faced by the masses during the first T20I. “I know the masses have to suffer a lot while reaching the spot to witness their heroes live in action. But we are trying to resolve those problems and it is hoped that they will be resolved gradually.” About stolen tickets issue, Subhan said: “The PCB didn’t register a case against stolen tickets. The policemen themselves registered the case and they have been investigating the matter their own.”
