Veteran politician Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has said that Imran Khan lacks capabilities found in big leaders and that his style of politics can lead the country to destruction.

Talking to journalists here on Saturday, he said that he was well-wisher of Imran Khan and he wanted PTI to exist since PPPP was fast heading towards its end.

He added that he had told Imran Khan before leaving the container that it was last day of his (Khan’s) rise. “It was not because I was going to quit the party rather I could clearly see that his politics was heading towards a crash,” he maintained. He said that he preferred to protect democracy and institutions instead of saving his parliament seat.

He alleged that a group of three or four people was getting instructions from somewhere else for their shortcut development. “Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Jahangir Khan Tareen have practically held the party hostage. Who knows where do they get instructions from?” he exclaimed.

Hashmi was of the opinion that NA-150 was the last place to get refuge for Shah Mahmood Qureshi as he had already lost his ancestral constituency NA-148 and the constituency in Sindh where his followers lived. He pointed out that the PTI candidate Rana Abdul Jabbar lost election with difference of just 4,000 votes in 2013 but the same candidate faced humiliating defeat with 11,000 votes at the hands of Rana Mahmoodul Hassan.

“It proves that the PTI is nosediving like a crashing helicopter and it will also face defeat in Mandi Bahauddin by-election,” he anticipated. He added that the PTI might go extinct from Multan and the results of Karachi and Multan by-elections as well as cantonment board polls indicated that its graph went very low.
