LAHORE - For giving the country’s nuclear programme a practical shape by detonating six nukes, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was paid a glowing tribute by speakers at a convention on Saturday.
During the PML-N youth convention held in connection with Yaume Takbeer here on Saturday, the speakers paid acknowledged the role of PML-N leadership for rendering defence of the country impregnable in May 1998 by declaring Pakistan a nuclear power.
The whole credit for making Pakistan a nuclear state goes to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who braved international pressure and went ahead with the atomic test-fire to give a befitting reply to India, the speakers held.
Those who spoke on the occasion included PML-N city President Pervez Malik, MNA Sahaista Pervez Malik, MPA Mohsan Latif, MPA Khawaja Imran, Sajid Chohan, Kashif Randhawa, Rashida Sohail and others.
In their separate speeches, it was a common view that PML-N was the only party capable of steering the country out of difficulties. “At the moment, Pakistan is on the way to progress and economic wellbeing. The foreign reserves are growing and the graph of inflation is downward. This is all due to the efforts of PML-N,” they shared the view.
The N-led government is proactive to overcome energy crisis on fast track while Chinese investment of $46billion is also promised to give new boost to overall development and economic stability of the country.
The speakers also urged the youth to strengthen hands of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, calling him big hope for the bright future of Pakistan.
“In last local government elections in the Cantonment Boards, PML-N appeared to be the most popular party,” they maintained while asking the youth to work diligently for the party to ensure N’s thumping victory in upcoming LG elections.
