KASUR-The district police arrested 22 persons involved in fireworks’ manufacturing and sale during a vigorous crackdown conducted in different areas of the district. The police also recovered a huge quantity of fireworks worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from their possession.

According to DPO Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Saddr Police conducted crackdown on fireworks merchants and arrested seven accused identified as Amir, Ali, Afzal, Javed, Ashtiaq, Shoukat and Abdul Qayyum.

Similarly, the A-Division Police arrested five accused identified as Ahmed, Ashiq, Shehroz, Farooq and Shafiq, Kot Radha Kishan police arrested four accused identified as Nadeem, Ashraf, Arshad and Usman. The Pattoki police arrested Shahbaz, Pervaiz Masih and Nadeem; the Ellahabad police arrested Arshad, Rasheed and Akhtar while the Kasur B-Division arrested Ahmed and recovered huge quantity of fireworks.

The DPO appealed to citizens to inform the police about any incident of fireworks and aerial firing. He said that all the DSPs and SHOs will patrol their respective areas to ensure the foolproof security.
