LAHORE  - Inspector General National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema has said that honesty is our belief and courtesy and rendering help to road users is our recognition.

“Our force is well-prepared and equipped and trained enough to confront criminal elements on highways and motorways. The training, which plays key role in the success of any organization and also helps in polishing skills and broadens the ambit of knowledge, is the foremost priority of the patrolling force,” he added. 

The motorway police chief stated this while addressing the passing out parade of NH&MP, KPK police, AJK and FIA at the Motorway Police Training College Sheikhpura on Saturday.

DIG Mirza Shakil Ahmad, DIG Zubair Hashmi, DIG Muhammad Wasal Sultan, SSP Inksar Khan, SSP Faran Baig, SSP Nasir Satti, Commandant Training College Ather Wahid and other police officers were also present on the occasion.

IG Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema said the motorway police are known all over Pakistan for their courteous, well-mannered, and friendly attitude towards the public.

He also acknowledged that the motorway police always enjoy distinguish status, which other departments have not achieved yet. “This is the only department upon which the trust ad we will never let them down,” he said adding, “We will bring the good name of this department up to zenith.”

The IG further said that the department had modified the training syllabus as per latest preferences and targets as it would help the trainee officers fix their direction. He said the NH&MP training college would achieve the same standard like the force achieved the status of a role model for other institutions. He also hoped that 131 officers who have completed their training would ensure safety of human lives by controlling accidents besides implementing the traffic laws.  Earlier, IG Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema distributed commendation certificates and prizes. The Acting Commandant Training College Athar Waheed presented introductory note about the college. IGP Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema also held an operational meeting of all zonal commanders later.
