LAHORE - Former Olympians Chaudhry Akhtar Rasool and Rana Mujahid Ali were elected unopposed Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) president and secretary.

PHF election commissioner Arshad Ansari late Saturday issued the notification, declaring that the two office-bearers were elected unopposed for four years. The PHF election commissioner said that the elections to fill the remaining posts of the federation would be held on November 25 in Islamabad.

Newly-elected PHF chief Akhtar Rasool claimed that he would leave no stone unturned to regain the lost hockey glory. “Former Olympians will be engaged for promoting the national game while the federation will learn from its mistakes and try to perform well in the national events earning laurels for the country.”

Mujahid said academy system will be improved to hunt the talent. “Improvement of academy system and hunt of young and promising talent will be our top priority. We will try our best to revive the game across the country and also bring international hockey to back to our country.”
