Forces kill two in Sibi clash

QUETTA - Security forces killed two attackers during a search operation in Sibi while a local leader of Balochistan National Party (BNP-Mengal) was kidnapped from Nushki on Saturday.
Sources said security forces were carrying out a search operation in Gori area of Sibi, some 18 kilometers from Lehri, when unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire on them.
“Security forces retaliated and killed two attackers,” they said, adding that security forces also recovered explosive material and weapons from the attackers’ possession. However, names of the attackers were yet to be ascertained. In another incident, armed men kidnapped a leader of BNP-Mengal, Mir Pasund Khan Mandai, from Nushki district.  Police sources said the abductee was on his way home from Nushki town to Killi Nukjo when unidentified armed men held him hostage at gunpoint and later took him away.
The kidnapping of BNP-Mengal leader sent a wave of panic in the area.
The administration has registered a case and started investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile, security forces recovered and defused two landmines planted on a roadside in Barkhan district of Balochistan. No arrest was made in this connection.

THREE SUFFOCATED TO DEATH DUE TO GAS IN GWADAR
As many as three people were suffocated to death in Gwadar coastal town of Balochistan, on Saturday.
Police said three people identified as Ghulam Mustafa, Rameez and Rashid Hussain had left the burner on before going to bed. As a result, the gas consumed all oxygen of the room and they suffocated to death.
The deceased were said to be government employees who were residents of New Town of Gwadar Development Authority.
The deceased were shifted to the district headquarters hospital by the local administration. The dead bodies were later handed over to the heirs after completion of medico-legal formalities.
