3 LI men killed in clashes with TI

KHYBER AGENCY - Three more fighters of banned Lashkar-e-Islam (LI) were killed and two others sustained injuries in the ongoing battle between LI and pro-government Tawheed-ul-Islam (TI), the Zakha Khel peace lashkar here in Nari Baba area of Tehsil Landikotal of Khyber Agency, official and local sources said Sunday.
The deceased volunteers of LI were identified as Inzar Gul s/o Gulbadeen of Malikdin Khel, Shamatai while the third one could not be identified.
For the last three weeks, both of the rival fictions are holding positions and targeting each other. The clashes between the warring groups have so far claimed many lives.
HOUSE DAMAGED IN HAND-GRENADE ATTACK
Staff Reporter from Peshawar adds: A house was partially damaged when unknown extortionist hurled a hand-grenade in Hayatabad area of Peshawar on Sunday.
Tatara police said that the incident occurred in phase-VI area when a house owned by one Haroon Rashid, resident of Hazar Khwani, was targeted.
The police added that Haroon is a businessman by profession and for the last few days some unknown persons repeatedly giving him threats to pay extortion money. The blast partially damaged his house, however, no casualty were reported in the incident.
Local police rushed to the site and after condoning the area collected evidences of the hand-grenade. The police said that no person has so far been arrested, however, a search operation is in progress.
