Rawalpindi - Shoaib Khurram Janbaz, SSP/chief traffic officer (CTO), has said that city traffic police are launching grand operation against one-wheeling and the motorcycles crafted for the dangerous purpose.

To discourage the game of death, the CTO said, special squads have also been constituted and deployed at Airport Road, Jhelum Road, Ayub Park, Peshawar Road, Chandni Chowk and 6th Road flyovers and Murree Road Flyover to arrest the one-wheelers.

Janbaz expressed these views in a statement issued to media here on Sunday.

He said that traffic police were taking stern action against the youngsters fond involved in one-wheeling and filing cases against them under section 99/A.

Moreover, police are also impounding all such motorcycles in police stations that are altered for one-wheeling. He said that all the special squads were on toes at all roads to refrain the youth from one-wheeling.

“One-wheeling is completely banned in the city as it is a dangerous and life taking game and police are making all-out efforts to implent this ban in true letter and spirit,” the chief traffic officer said.  He said that the one-wheelers not only put their lives at risk but also posed danger for other road users.

He ordered all the DSPs to adopt zero tolerance policy towards the one-wheelers.

He also appealed to the parents to keep eye on their children and do not allow them to get involved in such a risky game.
