Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhamamd Asif said the country was successfully moving towards the goal of economic and political stability, and national prosperity.

Addressing the party workers at PML-N House Sialkot city, he said that the political agenda of the PML-N government was to serve the people without any discrimination. He said that the promulgation of uniform education system for everyone across the country was the demand of the day, and the government was actively focusing on it.

He said that the early rehabilitation of the internally displaced persons was the top priority of the government, as the IDPs have been rendering precious sacrifices shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces of Pakistan in war against terrorism. He said that the whole nation stands united against terrorism.

He urged all the politicians to come forward and sit together to find out the amicable solution to all the problems being faced by the country. He said that it was not the time to do politics of conflicts for dividing the nation, adding that the masses had become matured and they have strongly rejected all the anti-democratic and anti-state conspiracies and the negative politics of conflict by the Dharna people in the country.

He said that some political elements were trying to create political uncertainty by promoting negative politics in the country, causing severe economic losses to the country. He said the conspiracy behind the politics of conflict was to create economic instability.

The federal minister noted that the government was successfully implementing its political agenda of social development and serving the masses. He said that the country and the nation would soon get rid of all the crises including energy crisis. He claimed the government’s energy preserving measures were bearing fruit and moving towards the goal of the end to load shedding of electricity.

He also listened to the problems of people and issued on the spot orders for their early solution. MNA Ch Muhammad Ishaq, MPAs Manshaullah Butt, Ch Muhammad Ikram, local PML-N leaders Mehmoodul Hassan Babar Khan, Aurangzeb Shah, Muhammad Arshad Butt, Ikhlaq Ahmed, Abdul Jabbar and Farooq Ghuman were also present.

An agency adds: The minister said that a strategy had been evolved for generating maximum power to cope with national requirements, adding the ministry was also working to streamline and strengthen the power distribution system.

To a question, the minister said China would help Pakistan in the energy sector. He said a special team would visit China to find out ways and means for the implementation of projects while the government would constitute a special taskforce to monitor the pace of development on power projects.

To another question, he said steps were being made for the installation of gas conversion equipment on gas turbines of Nandipur power project while the initial work on the project had already been initiated. The minister said protection of the Constitution, parliament and democracy was top on agenda and all political parties were united to protect them.
